Angelo dundee

I loved the movie for the simple reason that I saw the scenes and I saw Muhammad working with these guys.

You're talkin' legit here.

You take what the guy gives you. If there's nothin' there, you handle it. No problem.

What's his name? I tried to forget him because if he would have fought like he worked with my guy he would have knocked the guy out.

George Foreman can knock down an oak tree ... but oak trees don't move.

Both guys ran out of gas, only my guy had an extra tank.

My kid could move like a lightweight

There are positive and negative thoughts. And, hey, it doesn't cost you a cent more to think positively .

Any fighter didn't like Muhammad Ali should have his head examined.

You're blowing it, son! You're blowing it!

I just put the reflexes in the proper direction.

Muhammad aware of what to look for and he handled it on his own. He did his own thing. I never programmed him.

Trainers give of themselves. So, I learned and I projected it with my fighter.

The match would have to be made at 165 pounds. Sean can't make 160 any more, even though he's drinking lite beer these days

Joe Louis, to me, was the finest human being God put on this earth in every way.

The nearest I have ever seen to the great Willie Pep

It's been like that forever. We got spoiled by Joe Louis, by Rocky Marciano. Muhammad ruined us for everybody. He was great outside [the ring]; he was great inside. We got so accustomed to it we thought we deserved it.

Notice who is in the locker room after you lose, not after you win.

He would have beat everybody because we'd have found a way to beat him.

It doesn't cost anything more to be nice.

In all my years in boxing I'd never known such heat

Criticism is okay, encouragement is better!

This kid deserves anything good that happens to him. He's such a good guy. He's just the nicest human being you want to meet.

When she would walk, it was like rhythm. The guys' heads would bounce, but I wouldn't look because I was married.

Now, training fighters is like trying to catch fish. It's not the strength but the technique.

I never knew about a lot of the outside things

Philosophical Views and Reflections

Dundee frequently went to other matches during his career to scout other boxers. During the first Joe Frazier vs. George Foreman bout in Kingston, Jamaica , on January 22, 1973, he sat near Howard Cosell , who was recording a call for ABC for a tape delay re-broadcast. He was overheard on the call noting that Frazier had been hurt before he was knocked down by Foreman the first time in the first round; Cosell mentioned it immediately before his famous "Down goes Frazier!" Later in the bout, Dundee was overheard pleading for the fight to be stopped as Frazier was repeatedly knocked down. The fight was finally stopped after Frazier was knocked down for the sixth time, with Foreman winning the bout—and the lineal World Heavyweight Championship—by technical knockout.

Depictions of Dundee have appeared in three films. He was played by Ernest Borgnine in The Greatest (1977), by Ron Silver in Ali (2001) by Michael Imperioli in One Night in Miami (2020), and Giovanni Ribisi in The Greatest (2026).
