In 2015, Adam West and Burt Ward announced that they would be reprising their roles as Batman and Robin (along with Julie Newmar as Catwoman) for two animated features to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the TV series. The first, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders , was released in theaters for one day on October 10, 2016, before being released on DVD and Blu-ray.
